Poetry as Witness workshops
I offer poetic exploration as a tool of engagement and supportive action. I draw on my years of experience in Reflective Practice Facilitation to create bespoke workshops for clients.
My work centres around equipping people to remain in relationship with themselves and one another after something irreversible has happened.
I work one-to-one and in teams across all sectors, drawing on the restorative nature of writing, blue spaces and gentle integrative practices, curated around what is needed in the moment.
My approach is slow, reflective and creative. What I offer is a safe space to pause, listen inwardly, and trust what you hear, and, in Li-Young Lee’s words, to find nectar at the roadside.

Kates’ workshop was both uplifting and insightful. It helped my team to come together and talk openly about wellbeing issues and left us with a shared experience and common vocabulary that we kept going back toColum Goodchild, Head of Regulatory Investment Planning National Grid
I was really impressed with Kate as a facilitator and her ability to let conversation develop and draw parallels. I particularly enjoyed the use of free non- conventional writing. She enabled us to analogies which resonated with big decision making strategies.
Conference Poet
I work with conference and events organisers to offer poetry as a conduit of connection. Poems are written and spoken to reflect the emotional and energetic narrative of your conference.

Kate was invited to the MediaStrong conference at City, St George’s University in London as Poet in Residence. We were covering some quite challenging topics revolving around newsroom mental wellbeing. Kate was able to capture the essence of the day beautifully and was called to the stage to close the conference with her poetry. Her words brought many in the audience to tears – not easy in a room full of journalists! – she humanised stark statistics and forged connections, tapped into emotions and helped align thoughts. People were so moved by her work and many said it was the highlight of the day. I would recommend Kate a million times over as an asset to any conference.
Leona O’Neill, Director of MediaStrong
Kate is a gifted poet who is also skilled in pastoral care. Her poems have contributed to several of the NHS Charities Together COVID-19 anniversary events held at the National Memorial Arboretum which I had the privilege of leading. Her work was chosen for its’ poignancy and sensitivity that captured the pain, anguish and need for hope felt by so many during and post COVID-19. She was so helpful to ensure we captured the right feel for such sensitive events.
